The Entertainment Factor
This is, without a doubt, one of the hardest things I’ll try to explain. It’s one of those things that is very subjective and you either “get it” or you don’t. I’ll do my best…
The Entertainment Factor is both vital and subtle at the same time. It is what separates the million dollar product from the “just getting by” product.
It is what fuels the “Guru Seminars“.
It is what fuels the “Big Launches“.
No matter what anyone else tells you, you can count on this - the entertainment factor is 99% of what drives the launches, the seminars and certain ebooks. The “Big Experience” that many people just can’t get enough of. You have only a small percentage who attend these things for true networking, making deals and so forth. The vast majority are there because of the “experience” and the fact that they are star struck.
You certainly don’t need to put on seminars or big launches to use the entertainment factor. Just as an example, the Rich Jerk launch wasn’t a seminar or a big package, it was a simple ebook, done differently. You don’t have to be rude, insulting or controversial. Entertainment comes in all forms, you can be funny, deadly serious or off the wall outrageous - as long as you are not boring.
And that right there could be the easiest way to explain the Entertainment Factor - it’s simply the opposite of being boring…
People are already spoiled to a little showmanship. They have been trained for it by our society. Have no drama, no flair, no impact, and you could very well be dead in the water before you even get started.
I’m sorry but we’re not marketing to the left brain afflicted, they are in the minority and you need to market to the masses if you want the money to roll in.
As a side note:
(A large portion of the people on this planet are rather balanced between their right and left brains. Then you have the poor souls like me who are severely right brain afflicted. I think my left brain atrophied at birth. That’s why I see things in wholes and then try to explain them in words…it’s a hard thing to do.)
I would define the Entertainment Factor as: The Act Of Engagement
Engage them or lose them. Only you can answer the question: What will you do to engage them?
The answer to that question is extremely important, making the difference between having millions or having bread money. On the Internet, it’s like we’ve been given a spot on TV - what do we do with it?
Do we bore the hell out of people or do we create an “experience” for them that also translates into profits because they want more?
